Continuous sleep while sitting?

My father has a problem. He sleeps in a sitting position (a chair) continuously, so often through the day watching television or talking to family members. He is unable to control, do. It was a good night's sleep each night. He is 71 now. He snores while sleeping. What could be the cause and is it death?

Nah … I think it's because of age. But I think it is that good sleep EEG. The only bad is when you have a chance to talk and had a good conversation … you never know if he listens' coz you may find it asleep.
