It took 3 sets of tubes in the ears before. He still gets the accumulation of fluid in the ears and has significant hearing loss because of it. Her (new) ENT wants to try a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy, and a new set of tubes to correct this problem. However, he does not snore and does not meet any other criteria've read about to get a tonsillectomy. Has anyone or their children had a tonsillectomy? What is it painful? Is it useful to try to correct his hearing, or could it simply be a symptom of autism? I am very confused and scared and do not want my child to unnecessary surgery. Suggestions?

Apparent deafness is a symptom of autism. Our son seems to be deaf, and lost every word. We lost valuable time with an ENT who did not need surgery for ear tubes. I suggest you get a second opinion.

Not quite under $ 50 and right over the $ 50 mark, there is the Sennheiser PX100. I have not bought anything, but since I have about 5 years, I have two pairs now and I had a pair for my father. They seem quite as good as the Bose Triport if not better, but different people different opinions on this point. These are design-open area, if you are looking for something with a little more testing isolation probe PX200. These are my recommendations and I have never been happier with a headset in my 20 some odd years on this planet.

Tinnitus is ringing in the ear. My b / f snores so loudly, I can not sleep even with earplugs. Recently, I heard sometimes in acute ear or swooshing sound, but the hearing in general seems good. B / F went to dr. and he just said b / f to lose weight. Co-pays cost too much to Just keep going back. I know some of you worry about sleep apnea, in general, it does not seem to stop breathing or have sleepiness during the day. Once he woke up gasping for breath, as he forgot to breathe. I'd be more worried that your BF has a sleep disorder. My daughters husband had the same problem, she had to sleep on the couch, he had a sleep study, and I discovered he had sleep apnea. Now sleeps with a CPAP, and NO MORE SNORING! Continue to study your sleep BF! Do not let them tell him to just lose weight that does not solve the immediate problem! BTW, you will not develop tinnitus of his snoring, but you might have some hearing damage certainly!

If you use voice-activated tape recorder on a mechanical, it may not be fast enough to take short bursts of loud snoring. Snort is completed before the tape gets up to speed. Digital recorders are faster and have recently lost very affordable. If this is not the record with automatic gain control, try disabling the automatic gain control and sensitivity adjustment high. Note that the sounds of night seemed stronger than the same sound in the day when there is more background noise.

I tried to smother it with headphones and music but does not really lot & & I have no ear plugs.

…… and let me give you a different view of snoring mate ….. I know I snore (though he never bothered, I did not even hear it )…. but sometimes I hear my husband snoring and at the time bothered me. Then years passed and he was sick. I began to wonder if I did not hear. Was it Well? Why was not he snoring? I check to see if he was breathing. Then he began to snore after I had I'd hit and there was wide awake. And then in 1998 he died. Very suddenly. No warning. I miss his snoring.
